We
attended the National Rally again this year and it was Morries 2nd major
outing since gaining her MOT. As it was about 118 miles she was trailered
up and we arrived Thursday evening and set up camp. The weather had been
very hot and expectations for it to continue were good. My friend and
fellow member came with us this year and we were soon chatting to other
members on site. The Friday was spent having a ride out around the local
area followed by a relaxation in the sunshine, along with a medicinal
can or two. The Saturday consists of driving games for the members wishing
to participate but for others many auto jumble / spares stalls are availiable
on both main days. At noon many of us all assembled for the "Fun
Run", a run through the countryside organised for all the old vehicles
of about 20-25 miles ending at a pub for refreshments. The sun shone and
a large number of vehicles are shown in the car park of "The Boat
" pub sited next to the river. The evening entertainment consists
of a band and bar held in the renovated buildings of Thoresby Hall now
owned by Warner. The Sunday is the main day for all and the vehicles assembled
on the main area for judging and viewing. My Eight was parked up in class
3 and I then began looking and chatting to fellow enthusiasts. The day
finished with prize giving of which we managed 3rd place, the other members
must have felt sorry for me. In the evening a lighthearted fun game of
rounders for all is played only spoiled by the midges taking a liking
to all in shorts. A very enjoyable weekend for all members. Thanks to
all involved again
